Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

How can I book?

The best way to send your booking request is through our booking site so that we have all necessary information. You can also send us an email or give us a call. We will try to get back to you asap.

Overnight Stays

Regular overnight stays are possible at any time during winter seasons, if there are no events at the same time.

Events

In order to book an event, we need to receive the total amount one week before the beginning of the event. Payments can be made via bank transfer or PayPal.

When do the events start? Can I arrive anytime?

For the beginning of the event please refer to our event calendar. There is always a fixed arrival and departure date.

I am vegetarian and/ or have allergies?!

Please let us know your food preferences when booking. It would be best, if you mention it again on arrival. We do our best to cater for every diet and to prepare something delicious.

Camp guests: Where do they come from? What is the average age in the camp? Can we also come as a family?

Our camp guests are from all over the world, but mainly from Germany. On average our guests are between 24 and 45 years old, mostly a mixed group of single travellers, couples and friends. We are also happy to welcome families.
For youngsters under the age of 18 the camp is only accessible with written consent of their parents or legal guardians.

Arrival

Arrival with public transport

If you let us know timely in advance (12h), in high season between January and April we can pick you up at the bus stop „See-Bergbahn“.
Please note, that you need a car to get to the various winter sport areas or mountain gondolas from the Basecamp. Often car-sharing options are created among the guests. Otherwise we can agree to take you to the bus stop for the ski bus during a.m. season.

Arrival with own car

For arrival by car please refer to our Contact page for the address and a map of the Basecamp location.
Please consider that you might possibly need snow chains for the path to the Basecamp. In any case these should be applied at the base of the mountain, as the mountain road is very narrow at many places.

Parking

For (un-) loading you can stop your car in front of the Basecamp door. After that please park on the guest parking.

Heating

The Basecamp is mainly heated with wood. Therefore 2 wood stoves and a tile stove are available. The tile stove can only be used by competent users. A wrong way of firing the oven can lead to a chimney fire. Furthermore we have radiators and electrical heating which quickly bring the house to a comfortable temperature.

Bed sheets and towels

Bed sheets and towels are sufficiently available at the house.

Küche

The common kitchen is at the same time the meeting point in the house. Like in a backpacker hostel we cook together here. Spices, oil, vinegar, tea and coffee etc. are available. If anything is empty, please refill on the next shopping. Please always leave the kitchen, as you would expect to find it.

Sauna

Our sauna is available for use. Please note the sauna etiquette!

Visitor’s tax

For every overnight stay in the Basecamp a visitor’s tax of €2,50 pp is to be charged. This applies in addition to the room rate.

Board and equipment rental

You can rent snowboards (freestyle, freeride, splitboards and snowskates) from us, as well as avalanche sets consisting of LVS, sonde and shovel. Please let us know what you need, when you make your booking!

Mountain guide and trainer for winter sports

We do not offer lessons or tour-guiding ourselves. Instead we work together with local winter sport schools. In case you should need a mountain guide or ski- or snowboard-trainer outside of our events, we are happy to connect you with locals. Mountain guide service during our events is to be paid separately and directly to the school, due to insurance reasons.
